Coming Events
Coffee & Conversation is held at the Museum the fourth Wed. of each month from 1 - 3:30 pm. Each month we have a special guest and then enjoy chatting with others and taking a look around the Museum. Everyone is welcome.
January 25, 2012 our guests will be members of the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation, along with their Hawk, Blackjack. As this is a non profit organization requiring funds to feed and protect the wildlife donations would be appreciated.
February 22, 2012 our guest will be Don Styles who is a Master Bander from the Calgary & Area Bluebird Trail. Don checks and maintains the bluebird houses along the fence lines in and around Didsbury.
March 28, 2012 our guest presenter will be Didsbury Artist, Ruth Jepson. Ruth is well known for her beautiful portrait paintings. She painted the large golfer on the town water tower which has been a landmark for Didsbury. Her work of characters & settings can also be seen around the Didsbury Pool as people relax & imagine that they are in another place on a holiday.
April 25, 2012 meet Bill Anthony from Unique Stained Glass in Didsbury. Bill will share his knowledge and skill about his unique art form.
May 23, 2012 will be our sneak-a-peek of our wedding display over the past century
March 3, 2012 Our Annual Fundraising Roast Beef Supper and Auction will be held at the Multi Purpose Room -- Doors opening at 5:30 pm with supper being served at 6:00 pm
Cost is $25 for Members, $30 for Non Members --We would appreciate donations or suggestions for our silent & live auctions. Watch for posters giving more details.
PIE SOCIAL JUNE 9, 2012
Our annual Pie Social will be held at the Museum on Saturday, June 9 from 1 to 4 pm. Come and have a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy our delicious pies. We are always in need of volunteers to bake pies for our event. Cost is $5 member, $7 non-member, children 5 years and older $2, children 4 and under free.
Learn to weave on the old wooden 1937 loom at the Museum. Anaya Lea has offered to teach anyone interested in learning to weave at no cost. At the moment we are weaving tea towels and may weave rag rugs that will be for sale. They will certainly be "one of a kind".
Our train club meets Saturday afternoons at the Museum and they continue building their model train set to depict the Town of Didsbury in the early 1950-60's. These guys have lots of fun and welcome new members.

OLDS MODEL TRAIN & HOBBY SHOW -- will be held on Saturday, February 25, 10am – 5pm & Sunday, February 26, 10 am to 4 pm at the Olds College FGH Gymnasium 4500 – 50th Street, Olds

Space Available--if you would like to hold a meeting, or have a small gathering perhaps the Museum would be a unique venue. Contact the Museum at 403-335-9295 to discuss options.
Unique Gift Ideas-- purchase a donation gift certificate for someone to support the Museum or purchase a donation gift certificate to Sponsor-an-Artifact for a year, at the Museum. Certificates make great gifts for that "hard to buy person on your list or the person who has everything". Tax deductible receipts will be issued. Great Idea for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Special Days, Memorials, etc.
The Didsbury Museum will be a member of COUNTRY DRIVE 2012.
This is a group of approximately 29 operators from south of Didsbury to north of Lacombe who encourage visitors to come and see what the country has to offer. There will be four Showcase Weekends to invite guests for special events, activities, festivals, tours, tasting and other fun stuff at each site.
Springtime Country Drive-- June 2 & 3 – we will be presenting our display of wedding memorabilia through the past century.
Summer Country Drive – August 11 & 12 – The Didsbury Museum will salute the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Come enjoy a cup of tea and scrumptious tea biscuits with jams and jellies.
Harvest Country Drive – September 29 & 30 – we will be celebrating the harvest and learning about the artefacts that were used by the farmers and ranchers on their homesteads. Try weaving on our wooden loom from 1937 and learn how to churn butter. Make a craft in our schoolroom.
Christmas Country Drive—November 24 & 25 – our theme will be toys of the past used by our grandmothers and grandfathers. Enjoy a unique doll display made from recycled parts and materials. You can also enjoy tasty treats and decorate a Christmas cookie to take or eat.
